Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Guadalupe,
This Sunday is called Divine Mercy Sunday. In our Church you will find the picture of Jesus with rays of light coming from His Hands. This image came from an apparition that St. Maria Faustina received when she was a nun in Poland. St. Faustina was born in 1905 and died at an early age of thirty-three. She described this exact image of Jesus that appeared to her. The image also repeats the words that she received from the Lord: “Jesus, I trust in You”.
How often I have said these words in my prayers. With all that has happened in our world over the past year, we must say often: “Jesus, I trust in You”. Yes, when we are going through difficult times repeat those words. Instead of fears and doubts turn your worries into a deeper trust in the Lord.
This Sunday at St. Joseph’s Church on Tulane Ave, there will be a Holy Hour, Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop Aymond. This begins at 1PM. We are all invited to attend this Celebration and pray for the Mercy of Jesus to not only come upon us but also upon the whole world.
May the Mercy of Jesus fall on us.
Fr. Tony
